Celebrate 120 Years With Us
Some anniversaries are bigger than others.
This year Fairport Savings Bank celebrates a major milestone: our 120th anniversary. And, we did it all on our own. We’ve never merged with or acquired another bank. We’ve never expanded outside of Monroe County. We simply built 120 years of memories helping our next-door neighbors reach their financial goals.
At Fairport Savings Bank, it’s not about being the biggest bank. It is about serving our neighbors with warmth and respect. That way, neighbors become friends. And everyday we look forward to helping our old friends -- and making new ones.
Thanks for the Memories
All month long we’ll be asking you and our employoees to share your favorite memory of Fairport Savings Bank or your community from the last 120 years. Everyone who submits a memory will be entered into our weekly drawings worth $120.00. Here's just a few:
"'I have been with this bank since I was a little kid -- over 40 years. Starting with my babysitting and paper route income, this has always been a pleasant place to do business. We've tried other banks but we've left them all for Fairport Savings Bank." - Kathy Wright
"'We worked extremely hard in 1999 to test our systems and make sure we were ready in case the world collapsed at the stroke of Midnight, 2000. We were very confident that all would go well so I asked Lowell Twitchell if we could have a reception in the branch on New Year's Day 2000 for our customers.
At midnight December 31, 1999 Lowell met me, Colleen Brand, and Doug Ashbaugh here to watch the date change on the computers. I then tested a few areas to make certain all was in order. All of the employees and maybe 30 customers with their passbooks came in for our reception. Channel 10 even featured us on the news that day. We had a great time."
